E-Bike Servicing & Battery Safety Policy
1. Accepted E-Bike Systems
• Certified Systems: We exclusively service e-bikes equipped with manufacturer-approved, safety-certified drive systems. This includes, but is not limited to, Bosch, Shimano, Specialized, Mahle, and Yamaha. Pedal assist bicycles only with maximum tyre width of 2". We cannot service larger e-bikes which will not fit in our workstand but we can service cargo bike provided the meet the criteria above.
• Uncertified & Modified Bikes: We will not accept any e-bike that is not street legal in the UK; unbranded e-bikes, DIY conversion kits, or any e-bike that has been modified, chipped, or "tuned" to bypass factory speed limits, is operated by a throtttle or has greater than the UK legal limit 250w motor.
2. Battery & Charging Safety
• Keys Required: Please bring your battery key when dropping off your e-bike, as we may need to remove the battery during servicing.
• No Charging on Site: To minimize fire hazards, we do not charge customer batteries in the workshop.
• Damaged Batteries: We strictly refuse entry to any e-bike showing signs of any battery damage, swelling, deep casing cracks, or leaking cells.
3. Mechanical vs. Electrical Servicing
• Mechanical Repairs: For approved e-bike brands, we provide full mechanical servicing (e.g., brakes, drivetrains, tyres etc).
• Electrical Failures: If your e-bike experiences an internal motor or proprietary wiring failure you should refer you directly to an authorized brand service centre or the dealer you bought it from.
